Curriculum & Fees
Upon graduation, students will have completed 1,035 clinical hours.
Students receive a certificate upon completion of the ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app program and an Associate of Science Degree upon graduation from Pitt Johnstown. Graduates of ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Memorial's accredited Certificate Program are eligible to take the certifying examination of the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) and are also eligible for employment at hospitals throughout the country. The Classes of 2008-2017 all had a 100% pass rate of the certifying exam.
The program consists of didactic, laboratory and clinical courses. There are 15 Pitt Johnstown college credits of prerequisite requirements, 12 hours of ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Memorial orientation, 21 credits of hospital based course lecture and 23 credits of clinical practice, for a total of 59 credits required to receive the Certificate in Surgical Technology from ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Memorial. Of this amount, 44 credits are taught at ºìÐÓÖ±²¥app Memorial. Completion of the Associate of Science Degree requires an additional 15 college credits from Pitt Johnstown. All students must be enrolled in a degree program.
